Voting in person
Poll cards will be automatically delivered to all
registered voters in the weeks before the election, telling voters
where their polling station is. You do not need to take the poll
card with you to be able to vote. Polling stations will be open
between 7am and 10pm on 1 May 2008.
Voting by post

The deadline for applying for a postal vote has now passed. If
you have a postal vote, your ballot papers will be sent to you
shortly before the election. You need to complete and return
the papers to your borough council before 10pm on 1 May
2008.
Voting by proxy
You have to give a specific reason if you need a proxy
vote, for example if you are out of London, registered blind or
have a permanent physical incapacity. You can then choose someone
to vote on your behalf.
You can apply to vote by proxy by contacting your local borough council’s elections office or by
downloading the application form from aboutmyvote and returning it to
your borough council. The last day to apply for a proxy vote is
23 April 2008.
