Political transition

Political transition

The four-yearly elections naturally bring changes to City Hall: there may be a new Mayor of London and changes to the membership of the London Assembly. In turn, this means changes in priorities and perhaps also a new political direction for the Greater London Authority.

The process of handling these changes is called 'political transition'. Candidates have an important part to play in helping ensure a smooth political transition.

You can find out more about transition on the GLA's website, including how the GLA engages with candidates and their campaign teams in the run up to elections and what you can do to prepare for power if you are elected.
