Zoë Garbett: Green Party
Right homes, right price
Everyone has a right to a safe home that’s affordable to rent and heat. London is beyond a housing crisis. And not enough has been done to fix it.
I’ll immediately form a Rent Commission to get a better deal for renters and bring down rents. And I’ll focus on buying up a supply of homes for social rent, housing more Londoners securely and quickly whilst taking more action on damp and mould.
Cutting daily living costs
Nobody should have to worry about the cost of living, or be priced out of London.
I’ll make transport affordable for all, working towards one city-wide, low fare for public transport. I will bring in free school meals for secondary school students. I will be on the side of workers and small businesses.
A safer city
We need a police service we can trust to keep us safe. We need police reform now.
I’ll protect services for young people, focus on local policing and ensure Londoners can report crimes to a service they trust. I know many Londoners have been affected by the violence in both Israel and Palestine - the Green Party has called for a bilateral ceasefire, release of all hostages and lasting peace. I’ll do all I can to ensure the safety of our communities and not tolerate hate towards anyone.

Support for the Green Party keeps growing. It’s time for a Green Mayor.
I love London, and I want our city to work for everyone, no matter who you are and where you live.
This next term of the Mayor is critical to addressing the climate emergency - we must act now and I know what needs to be done.
I have a clear plan to make London fairer. I’ve delivered for the NHS, managing huge budgets and projects with communities. I’m a renter; I know how unaffordable our city has become. And as a councillor, I hear how Londoners need better housing, safer streets and reliable, cheaper transport. I’ve got a track record of taking action and I’m ready to do more.
