If you’re not on the list – you won’t get in

Final week to apply for election media accreditation

On Thursday 2 May 2024 – the capital goes to the polls to elect a new Mayor of London and 25 London Assembly Members. [1]

On Friday 3 May 2024 – verification begins at nine venues around London. The count continues Saturday 4 May. City Hall will be the central, coordinating venue.

Whether you’re a print journalist, a TV/radio broadcaster, an engineer, a producer, a blogger, an interview guest, a rigger, or a runner - if you intend to cover the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections on count day, you need to be accredited.

Anyone who shows up at a count venue, or City Hall, without the correct documentation will not be admitted.

  • Assembly Member Constituency declarations will be made at count venues. A live video stream of these declarations will be available via the London Elects website and via pool feed.
  • Media centre & declaration of Mayoral & London-wide Assembly Member results at City Hall.
  • Vote progress on website. A live video stream of these declarations will be available via the London Elects website and via pool feed.
  • London Elects is running central accreditation for all counts - online accreditation closes 19 April at https://www.londonelects.org.uk/media

Notes to editors

  1. This unique form of local government represents the interests of London and Londoners. London has one Mayor and 25 Assembly Members. The Mayor of London is responsible for running the city, from policing and housing to environment and transport. The Assembly keeps a check on the Mayor’s work and investigates issues that matter to Londoners.
